　Filing of Municipal and prefectural tax return and Final income tax return for 2023 (1^st January to 31^st December 2023) is starting on 16^th February. Closing date of filing both tax returns is 15^th March (Friday). Please file your tax return at your earliest convenience.

 

Eligibility

Anybody satisfying all the following criteria ▶With registration of residency in Kashiwa city as of 1^st January 2024 ▶With income during 2023 ※Other than survivor’s pension, disability pension, unemployment benefits etc.

◎There are some cases that even without any income during 2023, filing is required when requesting the issuance of  municipal and prefectural tax payment certificate and calculation of national health insurance.

◎Anybody who had filed the final income tax return does not need to file municipal and prefectural tax return.

 

Municipal and prefectural tax declaration ➡ at city hall

At the tax declaration area in the city hall, consultation, and assistance to fill the forms for tax declaration are not offered by the city hall staff. Your understanding and cooperation of sending the tax declaration documents by mail is very much appreciated.

How to obtain tax declaration form

Municipal/prefectural tax declaration forms will be sent out by mail on 26^th January to those who had filed a tax return last year. To obtain the tax declaration form by mail in case of filing the tax declaration for the first time this year, please contact the citizen’s tax division. Tax declaration form is not sent out to those who had had filed tax declaration last year but are no longer required to do so. In case of filing tax declaration is required, please contact the citizen’s tax division.

 

How to file the tax declaration

1. By mail

Please fill out the required parts of the form in accordance with the guide included in the tax declaration package and mail it to;

277-8505, Kashiwa-shiyakusho, Shiminzei-ka (Citizens’ Tax Division, Kashiwa City Hall) by 15^th March (Friday) (postmark on the day is valid).

If you need a copy of the tax declaration, please make a copy before you submit it.

2. Filing your declaration in person at the available tax declaration filing site in Kashiwa City

Final income tax return form is not available at City Hall Main Building, Shonan Branch, and community centers. When you need to have one, please contact Kashiwa Tax Office.

 

 

Have your application for the waiver of child early education and daycare nursery service done?

　To receive the benefit (support for the cost such as childcare fee) in accordance with Waiver system for child early education and daycare nursery service, it is required to obtain the certificate for certified Benefit of the facility use. Entitlement of benefit and maximum amount to be waivered vary based on the facility of your choice and condition of the household. Please make sure to check the details in advance.

　Closing date for Special living support payment for childcare household offered since May 2023 is approaching very soon. Any childcare household with resident tax exemption, or childcare household with sudden drop of income are advised to check the application entitlement and procedures.

50.000 yen per entitled child

29^th February (Thursday) ※ 15^th March (Friday) for the household with infant born in January and February 2024.

From April, garbage bag and terms of garbage categories will be unified in Kashiwa city

To Residents in Shonan area,“colors of garbage bags” and “terms of garbage categories” will be changing

From 1^st April (Monday), “colors of garbage bags” and “terms of garbage categories” will be changing and they will be the same as Kashiwa area. Major garbage categories will be “combustible,” “un-combustible,” “Plastic container and packaging,” and “Recycle.”

Change of colors of garbage bags are “combustible” = Pink, and “Plastic container and packaging” = Yellow.

Criteria of garbage categories and garbage collection frequency do not change.

※Current garbage bags can be used for another year.

To introduce the change, leaflet explaining the change and free trial garbage bags are posted to every household in Shonan area.

 

Common to Kashiwa and Shonan areas;  2 types of garbage bags available for your option

From 1^st April, in all areas in Kahiwa city, two types of garbage bags are available for your option. They are sold in a pack of 10s or 50s.

From 1^st April (Monday), Designated combustible garbage bag can be available for sale as a shopping bag

In Accordance with unifying the garbage bags, some of the 3R promotion stores (stores challenging positively to reduce the garbage) in Kashiwa city will sell designated combustible garbage bag (Small size) as a shopping bag.
